The Frontiers in Ornithology Symposium is an event for youth ages 13-22 and their mentors. The primary mission of this event is to focus on ornithology, conservation science and related academic pursuits. The symposium does not focus on birding, bird identification techniques, or listing birds, but instead on cutting-edge technologies being used in avian research and study, careers in ornithology, and how to pursue that focus in higher education, vocationally, or avocationally. VFAS is among the many sponsors of this event.
The symposium is being held at the Ashland Nature Center in Hockessin Delaware on November 4 2023 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Youth registration (ages 13-22) is $35 and mentor adults are $50 (adult price will increase to $75 after September 1). This includes a welcome bag, breakfast and lunch, participation in all presentations and workshops, post-event video access and networking opportunities.
