The Christmas Bird Count is an annual winter survey of birds that is the oldest continuously-running community science project in the western hemisphere.  Valley Forge Audubon Society (VFAS) has been conducting a Christmas Bird Count every winter for over 30 years at locations within a designated geographic area which is centered around Audubon, PA.  This year’s count will take place on December 23rd.

Teams of volunteers are assigned specific locations at which to survey birds.  Beginning birders are welcome to take part and will be assigned to a team with experienced members.  Because this census takes place during the holiday season and many people travel, we can be short of volunteers for the count.  If you are in town and want to help, please contact Vince Smith (484-410-1157, larusvs34@gmail.com).  Even if you have only an hour to spare, we can use your help. The more eyes and ears we can recruit, the better the survey.

Thank you in advance for your help with this important project.
