The Pennsylvania Audubon Council, in partnership with Audubon chapters and Bird Town PA, invites you to join our Bird Habitat Recognition Program. To qualify for the program and receive your yard sign, your property must have items from each of the four pillars of healthy habitats: Food, Water, Shelter, and Nesting. Your Registration and sign cost $30. There are many benefits to having your Bird Friendly Habitat recognized. You can get the Bird Town Pennsylvania newsletter, Bird Beat, filled with all sorts of articles on native plants and healthy habitats. You can connect with VFAS and take advantage of programs and events. And you’ll be part of the PA Audubon Council community statewide with opportunities to attend webinars, take action with local legislators, and stay on top of all things bird-friendly in PA….and maybe your sign will encourage your neighbors to have bird-friendly yards.
Homeowners, renters, schools, parks, businesses, and community spaces can apply. Properties of any size — from small yards to large parcels — are eligible as long as they meet the habitat requirements. We recognize that individuals seeking recognition for a small space, such as a patio or balcony, may offer alternative options for bird friendly habitat. Property owners in apartments or in HOAs where exterior yard signs may not be permitted will be provided with a 5X7 self-sticking window label as well as a sign, which can be used for an interior display. Signs are free to qualifying schools, churches, and other municipal properties.
