Big Day and Brews at Green Lane

A “Big Day” is a 24-hour opportunity to celebrate birds near and far.  Join us as we circumnavigate Green Lane Reservoir, stopping at multiple locations along the way to look for birds before ending the trip for some camaraderie, food, and micro-brews at the Perkiomen Valley Brewery.

We will travel by car to three or four locations around Green Lane, stopping at each to scan sky, land, and water for birds.  Travel time between the sites ranges from 5 to 9 minutes.  Bring binoculars as well as a spotting scope if you have one.   Keep in mind the breeze off the water can often be cool, so dress appropriately.  Restrooms are available at most of the stops, which involve minimal walking.

At the end of the trip those who are interested can gather with the leaders at the Perkiomen Valley Brewery (101 Walnut Street, Green Lane, PA 18054), which is just a 3-minute drive from where the trip began.  There will be food available at the brewery from Mama’s Majik Kitchen food truck, or you may bring your own.
