Bird Walk at Rushton Woods Preserve
Rushton Woods Preserve is an 86-acre preserve with mature woodland, open meadows, a creek, and Rushton Farm, the center of the Willistown Conservation Trust’s Community Farm and Bird Conservation Program. The preserve is known for its spring and fall bird banding station. The wooded part of the property includes wetlands, riparian forest, and two major upland forest habitats. Over 160 bird species have been observed here. Among the birds we expect to see are thrushes, woodpeckers, sparrows, orioles, vireos, and flycatchers.
Meet in the parking lot near the greenhouse, farm shed, and kiosk. There are some wet areas so wear waterproof shoes if you have them
Note that there are no on-site restrooms.
