Birding Along the River: Upper Schuylkill Valley Park
We will start from the lower parking lot and bird for about 2 to 3 hours, out and back along the Schuylkill East Trail. We will look for adult nesting and fledgling songbirds and ducks and herons on the river. The wide trail has a natural surface, mainly flat, with woods on one side and water on the other. In good weather it can also accommodate strollers, as well as those who have limited mobility or utilize a scooter, walker, or wheelchair – so a great opportunity for all. Note that we are starting earlier than we usually do in order to avoid the summer heat.
No prior knowledge of birds or birding is necessary to attend – beginners are always welcome! Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them, the leasers will have one pair to loan out.
An accessible restroom is available onsite.
