Birding Around Barrett’s Meadow
This mosaic of wet meadow, marsh, and shrubland is located on the border between Delaware and Chester counties, just southeast of West Chester. Barrett’s Meadow is an important feeding, resting, and nesting habitat for birds. Join leader Sarah Boucas-Neto as she guides us around the meadow and the bordering stretch of Chester Creek searching for the birds that utilize this special Thornbury Township park.
This field trip will cover less than a mile on mainly flat, grassy, and possibly muddy earthen paths. Good footwear is a must.
New birders are always welcome. Children under 18 are also welcome if accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them. There is no restroom on site.
Masks are not required for this outdoor program, although VFAS encourages all participants to be fully vaccinated and asymptomatic to attend.
