Birding at Ellis Woods Park
Ellis Woods Park (855 Ellis Woods Road) includes 71 acres of woods, meadows, wetlands, and cultivated farmland which supports a great variety of birds – over 150 documented species – and has been developed by East Coventry Township with birds in mind. The Birder’s Loop Trail features interpretive signs describing birds found in each habitat, and a printable checklist of birds that have been sighted at the park is linked here:Â https://eastcoventry-pa.gov/vertical/sites/%7BA2FA46C5-686F-4B16-8376-0BDF39FCC483%7D/uploads/Bird_list_REVISED.pdf
This trip will cover up to 2 miles over mostly rolling terrain, but there will be some steep sections to navigate. The earthen trails may be muddy and slippery. Good footwear is a must.
Bring binoculars if you have them. There is no restroom on site.
Masks are not required for this outdoor program, although VFAS encourages all participants to be fully vaccinated and asymptomatic to attend.
