Birding Field, Woods and Sky at Harriet Wetherill Park
Fall mornings at Harriet Wetherill Park (GPS coordinates: 40.116194, -75.265817) can provide great birding opportunities. The wooded and cultivated areas of the park give shelter to both year-round residents and migrating birds settling in for the day, while the wide-open sky over the fields provides hawk-spotting opportunities as they take advantage of the thermals – rising with the warming air – to launch their flights for the day.
Come join us on this autumn morning as we take about two hours on the 1+mile paved and natural path to find the birds busy in the air, the fields, and the woods. New birders are very welcome, as are children if accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them.
There are accessible restroom facilities on site.
