Birding for Beginners: A Field Trip At Fischer’s Park
This is one of our special spring outings planned specifically for beginning birders. We invite you to “leave the nest” of your comfy couch and come join us! Whether you are brand-new or sorta-new to birding or just love nature, this trip is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy spring and see the birds – and we’ll help!
Our 1-mile or so route will take us about 2 hours, travelling alongside Towamencin Creek and thru woods and cultivated field on a mostly flat natural path with some areas of slight incline. The park’s habitat provides quite a range of possible spring sightings, from year-round favorites such as woodpeckers and swans to seasonal residents such as vireos, warblers, orioles, and green herons. It’s always a “treasure hunt”, and always fun.
All abilities and ages are welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended.
There are accessible restroom facilities on site.
