Birding for Beginners: Harriet Wetherill Park Field Trip
Note: This Plymouth Township Park has two entrances. Be sure to use the Butler Pike Entrance, official address: 2642 Butler Pike, Plymouth Meeting, 19462
This is one of several outings planned this spring specifically for beginning birders. Whether you are brand-new or sorta-new to birding, or you just love nature – whatever! We want to encourage you to “spread your wings” (all puns intended) and join us. Our route in this lovely park wanders through varied habitats of woods, stream, and cultivated and natural fields, and will last about two hours. This 1+ mile easy, accessible paved path can also accommodate those who have limited mobility or utilize a scooter, walker, or wheelchair, as well as strollers (for those of you with little ones).
Spring is a fabulous time to find year-round favorites and welcome in the returning summer residents. You’ll probably recognize more than you realize – and we’ll help!
All abilities and ages are welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them. There are accessible restroom facilities on site. This outing is co-sponsored by Valley Forge Audubon Society (valleyforgeaudubon.org) and Plymouth Township (plymouthtownship.org).
