Birding in the New Year

Join us for the first VFAS birding trip of 2022 as we search for winter residents in the varied habitats of French Creek State Park. This field trip will be held on accessible trails. The woods, waters, wetlands, and wild areas of this massive park provide wonderful winter habitat for many birds. This would be a great chance to try out those new binoculars you received for Christmas!

No prior knowledge of birds or birding is necessary. This inclusive program is open to all ages and abilities, although we ask that children be accompanied by an adult (strollers can be accommodated as a fully accessible route on paved and gravel trails is planned). If you have binoculars, bring them, and dress for the weather.

Accessible restrooms are available on site.

Masks are not required for this outdoor program, although VFAS encourages all participants to be fully vaccinated and asymptomatic to attend.
