Birding Mid-week Mosey on the SRT – Spring City Section
Our “mid-week moseys” have become a favorite birding time for enjoying quiet trails with active birds. This accessible, flat, paved stretch of the Schuylkill River Trail is especially good for anyone with mobility challenges as well as being a delight for new birders, experienced birders, younger, older – you get the idea, it’s a great birding area!
Come join us as we search the pond on the left side for our resident kingfisher pair as well as ducks and other waterfowl, songbirds and woodpeckers migrating through or living year-round in the woods-edges by the river, and hawks flying over the fields nearby. We may find any or all as we take about two hours for our slow mosey on this 1+ mile out and back route.
Bring your binoculars if you have them. We will have a few pairs to lend.
There are no restrooms available on site.
DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the large parking lot at RiverEdge Square Shopping Center in Spring City, which is adjacent to the SRT. Turn onto Riverside Drive (which looks like a driveway) off of East Bridge Street at the big “RiverEdge Square” sign for this little strip mall. It is located about a block west of the bridge over the Schuylkill River where “Main Street” in Royersford crosses over into Spring City and becomes “East Bridge Street”.
