Birding Riverfront Park in Pottstown
True to its name, Pottstown’s Riverfront Park is located along the banks of the Schuylkill River which provides a migration corridor for many types of birds – those that soar, swim, flutter, and perch – all of which utilize the park for feeding and resting, and even for nesting. Join us as we search the skies, river, woods, and lawns of this park during this busy bird migration season.
This family-friendly and accessible outing will cover about a mile on a flat loop trail, most of which is a paved portion of the Schuylkill River Trail, with the final 2/10 of a mile on a flat, wood-chipped path. (Participants are also able to return to the parking lot by using the paved trail if that is preferred.) Please bring binoculars if you have them, and remember that you don’t need to know anything about birding to join us! Children are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. There is a portable restroom available on site.
