Birds and Botany at Welkinweir

Want to learn more about our local birds? Do you ever wonder, “What is that plant?” Then this field trip, led by VFAS volunteers and PA Master Naturalists Patty Werth and Diana Cormack, is for you. Patty will be on the lookout for birds to point out, while Diana will serve as the field trip’s native plant expert guide.

This field trip is for all experience levels and all family members, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear sturdy shoes – trails are earthen and may be muddy, and there is one steep hill to navigate. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Meet in the visitor parking lot west of the main entrance. A portable restroom is on site.

Masks are not required for this outdoor program, although VFAS encourages all participants to be fully vaccinated and asymptomatic to attend.
