Birds On The Farm

In the last 25 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer.  Because they are sustainably managed, CSAs are good for people and the planet and are also good for birds because they provide good bird habitat.

Join us for a program at Charlestown Farm, a CSA in Charlestown Township, where we will go birding with Valley Forge Audubon Society president Vincent Smith.  Vince will be joined by the farm’s founder/manager, and together they will discuss how sustainable and healthy farming practices support healthy birds, too.  This program is a perfect tie-in to Earth Day’s theme for 2023: “Invest in Our Planet.”  Supporting CSAs are a great way to do just that.

Please bring binoculars if you have them.  Wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather.  Bring water, snacks if you want them, and any kids you might have hanging around.  A portable restroom is available on site.
