Black Friday Hike: Opt Outside!
It’s the day after Thanksgiving. You don’t have to worry about cooking—the leftovers are waiting. You may still have friends and family in town, and you’re looking for something to do. Here’s an idea: avoid the shopping crowds and Opt Outside with us!
Stretch your legs and hike off some of your big Thanksgiving meal on this roughly 5-mile hike around Opalanie Park and then onto the connecting trails of Bryn Coed Preserve. Want more or less? There are options to make this trek as short as 3 miles or as long as 7 or 8 – we’ll decide as we go along.
Meet at the gravel parking lot at Opalanie Park, where there is a portable toilet on site. All of the trails in both parks are earthen and may be muddy and slippery – good footwear is highly recommended. The terrain is rolling without steep hills. This hike will take place rain or shine.
