Celebration Birding at Fischer’s Park

Towamencin Township has recently been designated as one of PA’s newest Bird Towns, confirming the Township’s dedication to preserving and enhancing the area’s natural environment. Come join Towamencin resident Andrew Dolan and other VFAS volunteer guides as we celebrate this achievement with an early-morning birding outing at Towamencin’s Fischer’s Park. As the Township’s largest park facility, this beautiful 77-acre park is a great example of natural wonders well-worth worth preserving, including walking trails, woods along Towamencin Creek, and open fields. At least 148 species of birds have been observed at the park.

Since it’s also Father’s Day weekend, we’ll also highlight a few fun facts about the habits and behaviors of various “bird dads” during our 2-or-so hour excursion over an easy 1+ mile paved and natural-path route. Join us for the entire time or leave whenever you wish. All ages and abilities are welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult. Please bring binoculars if you have them. (We will have a few pairs to lend.)
