Earth Day Tree and Wildflower ID Hike
Join DCNR Park Naturalist Gary Stolz for a fun program about trees, their parts, how they function, their importance in nature, and how to recognize some that grow at Ridley Creek State Park. We will observe two state park champion trees and a tree species that is actually extinct in the wild before departing on a nature hike to learn about local tree identification, native trees, invasives, and valuable species to plant in your own backyard habitat projects. We’ll also be looking for spring wildflowers. Wear good walking shoes, bring water and dress for the weather. Registration is not required for this family-friendly program.
