Evening Birding at Brightside Farm Park

Grassland birds will be our target for this evening outing at Brightside Farm Park, which has been restored and is maintained by Charlestown Township to be a haven for declining species such as Bobolink, Eastern Meadowlark, and Savannah, Vesper, Grasshopper, and Lincoln’s Sparrows, all of which have been observed at this 75-acre park.  Come enjoy this scenic area with us as we meander through its native grassland – the most quickly disappearing natural habitat type in our region.

Free and open to the public, most of this field trip will follow a paved multi-use loop trail, though some areas of interest are off the multi-use trail and will not be accessible to wheelchairs or strollers. There is very little grade to the terrain at the park. The distance covered will be approximately 1 mile.  All experience levels, including beginners, and all ages are welcome

Don’t forget to bring binoculars if you have them.  Please note that there are no restrooms available at the park.
