Family Birding at Riverbend Environmental Education Center (Registration required)
This is a free event but Riverbend EEC asks that you register at the link below.
Riverbend Environmental Education Center invites you to join Valley Forge Audubon Society’s Phil Witmer as he leads families on a leisurely birding trip around Riverbend’s preserve, located along a large curve in the Schuylkill River. The preserve’s proximity to the river makes it popular with many species of birds that utilize it as home or as a stopover during fall migration.
Phil, an avid birder for over 30 years, is a member of VFAS’s Advocacy Committee and the vice-president of Bird Town Pennsylvania, which is helping to build bird friendly habitats in Pennsylvania municipalities.
Please bring binoculars if you have them. Though not overly strenuous, Riverbend’s trails are hilly. We are sorry but we cannot accommodate strollers or wheelchairs on this outing. The guided walk will last approximately 90 minutes.
