Father’s Day With The Birds
By mid-June most birds are well into nesting and many are already parents with youngsters out of the nest. As we meander around Upper Schuylkill Valley Park we will observe and discuss the ‘whats’ and ‘whys’ of the feathered fathers’ behaviors (and no, of course we won’t ignore mom and the kids – we will be observing many of them, too). Bring your binoculars, your enthusiasm, and your questions, and we’ll see what we can all observe and learn together.
This field trip is appropriate for all ages and every level of experience – families are especially welcome. Please bring binoculars if you have them; a hat and sunscreen are recommended. This outing will last approximately 2 hours.
Portable toilets are available on site. We will meet at the upper parking lot near the buildings.
