Goatsuckers and Grog
Join VFAS President Vince Smith for an exploration of the life, habits, and peculiarities of Goatsuckers (also known as Common Nighthawks) and their relatives the Chimney Swifts. Vince will discuss how the Goatsuckers got their name and their general life cycle as he scans the evening skies of Black Rock Sanctuary for these fascinating birds.
Bring your binoculars and dress for the weather. There will be a short twilight walk on paved and/or earthen trails. This program is ideal for families with children and for people of all abilities. A portable, accessible restroom is on site at Black Rock Sanctuary.
