Holiday Weekend Birding at Harriet Wetherill Park
Note: This Plymouth Township Park has two entrances. Be sure to use the entrance at 2642 Butler Pike. We will meet there by the parking lot.
Come join us on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend as we search the variety of habitats at Harriet Wetherill Park for late season fledglings such as goldfinches and bluebirds, “teens” learning the territory such as young red-bellied woodpeckers and robins, and warblers perhaps already stopping in as they begin their fall migration.
The season and route make for a lovely and interesting wander of about a mile on paved and flat paths by stream, woods, cultivated and natural fields, and will last approximately 2 hours.
No prior knowledge of birds or birding is necessary to attend. All abilities and ages are welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them.
There are accessible restroom facilities on site.
