I Get Around: Strategies for Plant Disperal

Have you looked at a plant in your garden that you did not plant yourself, and wondered how it got there? Plants have some amazing strategies that they use to multiply. Bring the whole family to this exploration of how plants “get around.”

Through observation and hands-on participation, we will learn about the many strategies plants use to disperse their seeds. This program is ideal for school-age children and adults. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) Bring binoculars if you have them; while the trail at this park is paved, closed-toed shoes and long pants are suggested for off-trail explorations. There are no bathrooms on site.

Masks are not required for this outdoor program, although VFAS encourages all participants to be fully vaccinated and asymptomatic to attend.
