July Birding Boost at Fischer’s Park
Fisher’s Park, in Towamencin Township, is an increasingly popular birding spot in Montgomery County. Come join Andrew Dolan, Towamencin resident and Valley Forge Audubon Society volunteer, and friends for an early-morning “lazy days of summer” outing. The paved and soft bark paths make for an easy 1+ mile mosey along fields, through woods, and along the Towamencin Creek. Sightings can (and often do) include everything from green herons and kingfishers to common yellowthroats, bluebirds, orioles and more. Depending upon the birds, our route usually takes about 2+ hours. You are welcome to join even for part of the time— it’s worth it!
All abilities and ages are welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them. There are accessible restroom facilities on site.
