Late Spring Birding at Heebner Park

Join us for a 2 to 3 hour birding field trip at Heebner Park in Worcester Township. This 84-acre local park has a variety of habitats and naturalized areas. In addition to our year-round avian residents, yellow warblers, indigo buntings, and nesting woodpeckers are often seen here in addition to brown thrashers and eastern towhees. Willow flycatchers can reliably be found in the fields and red-winged blackbirds and green herons are often seen in the pond area.

Beginning birders and children (accompanied by an adult) are welcome to join us on this 1.5 to 2 mile stroll. The trails are flat and mostly gravel-covered and there is a restroom on site. Bring binoculars if you have them. The leaders will have a pair to loan out. Use the entrance on Valley Forge Road (Rt 363). Drive to the back of the parking lot and park by the tennis courts. Do not use the Heebner Rd entrance. Note that GPS may show the town as Worcester or Collegeville.
