Native Trees and Birding Tour

Providing both food and cover, native trees and shrubs are incredibly important for many of our local bird species. Harriet Wetherill Park is noteworthy for the native plant improvements that park supporters have added and maintain here. Andrew Conboy, a local ISA-certified arborist and urban forester, has been one of the leaders of this important effort. Come join him and volunteer birding guides from the Valley Forge Audubon Society to learn about these native trees and other native plants and the birds that need them.

We will take about 2 hours to travel along a 1+ mile route of paved and natural paths, although you may leave at any time. All levels of interest and experience as well as all age groups are welcome to join us (although children must be accompanied by an adult.) Bring binoculars if you have them; the guides will have several pairs to lend.

There are accessible restroom facilities on site.
