Natural History Treasure Hunt
Everyone knows what a treasure hunt is, but have you ever done a Natural History Treasure Hunt? What exactly is it?
Natural history is the study of animals, plants, insects, and more – basically all natural organisms – at the individual level. But to study them, you must first find them! Please join naturalist Vince Smith in searching the fields, forests and waterways of the Black Rock Sanctuary for interesting plants, butterflies, dragonflies, birds, and all other critters at this wonderful preserve near Phoenixville.
Bring your curiosity, the kids, and binoculars if you have them. You may want to bring a notebook or journal if you are so inclined, and a magnifying glass if you have one. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The field trip will be held on well-maintained paths, some of which are paved, and last about 2 hours. A portable restroom is available on site.
