Paddle Birding at Marsh Creek SP
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are renting a boat, meet at the old park office by the live bait stand (the first left after you enter through the park gates)
If you are bringing your own boat, meet in the parking lot by the east boat launch
Join DCNR naturalist Jared Brandt and volunteer guides from Valley Forge Audubon Society for a morning of paddling and birding on the beautiful 535-acre Marsh Creek Lake. Experience birdwatching from the water, which allows access to bird habitat from a different angle and a chance to scan the shorelines at close range.
There are a limited number of kayaks available through the state park, but this is also a bring-your-own-watercraft event – kayaks, canoes, rafts, and SUPs are all welcome. Please note that the state park’s kayaks must be reserved in advance. For information and to reserve a kayak, please email Jared Brandt at jabrandt@pa.gov (preferred) or call 610-646-0038.
The minimum age to participate is 10 years old.
Pack a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses to counter the glare off the water, as well as plenty of water. Synthetic quick-dry clothing and shoes that can get wet are recommended. A dry bag or Ziploc for keys, phone, etc is recommended.
Please follow the directions for parking noted above. Restrooms are available on site.
