Scoping Out Chambers Lake: Hibernia Part 1

Winter is great time to see waterfowl, and the 94-acre Chambers Lake (GPS: 40.027838, -75.852759) is well-known for the variety of ducks (and more) that it attracts.  We will use spotting scope and binoculars to scan the lake’s surface for waterfowl while also staying alert to birds that might be utilizing the surrounding fields and hedgerows, as well as those that may just be passing through above us.

This is a short, stationary program that will end in time for those who are interested to join the 9 am birding trip that begins just a mile away near the Hibernia Park mansion.

Bring binoculars if you have them; the leaders will provide a spotting scope to share.  Beginners and children who are accompanied by an adult are always welcome at Valley Forge Audubon Society events.

An accessible portable restroom is available on site.
