“Spring is Sprung!” at Norristown Farm Park (CANCELED)

TODAY’S WALK IS CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

To paraphrase a fun little ditty: “Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, come see where the birdies is!” Do you have a favorite spring bird? Maybe it’s the early-arriving Eastern Phoebe, “saying its name” as its call, or the noisy male red-winged blackbirds flashing their bright red wing-patch as they fly, or the gorgeous blue-backed tree swallow, or perhaps the resident bluebirds getting ready to raise their first brood of the season. These are among our favorites too, and we will be searching for those and more during this Norristown Farm Park outing.

All ages, abilities, and experience levels are welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult. If you are new to birding, we’ll help you with the search! If you are experienced, you can help everyone enjoy whatever we discover. This will be a 1+ mile route on an easy, mostly-paved path with some areas of gradual incline and varied habitat of field, woods edge, and stream (which is especially important for the birds after this very dry winter).

Bring binoculars if you have them; the guides will have several pairs to loan. Accessible restroom facilities are on site.
