Winter Birds at Heebner Park/Zacharias Trail
Heebner Park and the adjoining Zacharias Trail have a variety of habitats and naturalized areas. At this time of year, we’ll be looking for sparrows, sapsuckers, kinglets, brown creepers, and year-round resident birds.
Beginning birders and children (accompanied by an adult) are welcome to join us on this 1.5 to 2 mile stroll. The trails are flat and mostly gravel-covered and there is a restroom on site. Bring binoculars if you have them. The leaders will have a pair to loan out. Use the entrance on Valley Forge Road (Rt 363). Park by the tennis courts (40.195118,-75.352760). Do not use the Heebner Rd entrance. Note that GPS may show the town as Worcester or Collegeville.
