Wonderful Waterfowl: How to Identify Ducks, Geese, and Swans

Winter is a great time to observe many different types of waterfowl, but distinguishing one from another can often be tricky.  Fortunately, winter is also a great time to stay inside and watch a webinar on how to identify these beautiful birds – and we have one for you!

Please join us for this informative webinar that will have you marveling at the amazing Anatidae: the family of water birds that includes ducks, geese, and swans. Identification tips and hints will be accompanied by stunning photos of the birds that frequent our area, and recordings of characteristic sounds that these birds make will be played and discussed.  You will learn the difference between “dabbling” and “diving” ducks, look-alike swans and geese, and meet some other aquatic birds that don’t fit into any of those categories!

If you are planning to join us on our upcoming trips to Heinz NWR or Middle Creek WMA, this webinar will be a great introduction to (or reminder of) all the wonderful waterfowl that can be found in our area in the winter.
