POSTPONED: Woodpeckers: From “The Flying Checkerboard” to “Yellowhammer”

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event is postponed until a later date.  We will update this event posting once we have a new date.

Woodpeckers are a favorite backyard bird, adding a lot of color and personality everywhere they occur. But how much do you really know about woodpeckers?

Join us for an informative webinar about the seven species of woodpeckers that are native to our area. This program will provide some of the keys for identifying the different local species – six that are here year-round and one that is only found locally in the winter – along with fun facts about these extraordinary birds. We will also discuss some of the fascinating adaptations of woodpeckers, including how they survive all that head-banging!

Presented by Valley Forge Audubon Society volunteer John Werth, this webinar is co-sponsored by the Valley Forge Audubon Society and the North Coventry Township Environmental Advisory Council and is free to attend.
