World Migratory Bird Day
How to find us: Enter the park from Gradyville Road. Once in the park, follow the signs to the park office, which is Hunting Hill Mansion, and meet in the upper parking lot. If using GPS, enter these coordinates to take you directly to the meeting location: +39.95076, -75.45191
The conservation theme for World Migratory Bird Day in 2023 is Water: Sustaining Bird Life and focuses on the importance of water to migratory birds, so where better to bird than at a park with “creek” in its name? Join Ridley Creek State Park’s naturalist on an early morning birding trip to find migrants passing through, those which have already arrived in our area, and those who have not yet headed out to their breeding grounds further north.
We invite beginning and experienced birders alike and families with children to join us at this expansive park in Delaware County. Some of the trails are uneven and rocky and may be muddy, so good footwear is important. Please bring binoculars if you have them.
This program will last approximately 2 hours and will cover a couple of miles. Follow the signs to the Mansion (Park Office) after you enter the park; we will meet at the Mansion’s upper parking lot. Portable restrooms are available on site.
