Bird/Nature Walk @ Hopewell Furnace NHS
November 2, 2019 –
Established in 1938, this 848-acre park is a beautiful mix of dense woodlands, open pastures and edge habitat surrounding the historic and scenic Hopewell Village. Our walk will begin at the Visitor's Center and will be approximately 1 mile in length, travelling toward Hopewell Lake in adjacent French Creek State Park. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather. Trails are unpaved but well-maintained. The terrain is mostly gently sloping, although there are a couple of short steep sections. A modern restroom is on site.
Beginners and children (accompanied by an adult) are welcome.
Note: Gates do not open until 9:00 AM. There is no access until that time. This is a joint walk with West Chester Bird Club.
Leaders: Patty Werth (484-985-8164, email@example.com) and John Werth (215-859-1148)
