Middle Creek Snow Geese PhotoWalk/Brewbirding
As of February 10, 80,000 snow geese have been reported here as well as 1800 tundra swans. We will plan on meeting Saturday February 15 at the visitor center at 9 am and hope the geese will still be there. Note that the interior tour route is not yet open. We will walk the Willow Point Trail to the lake where we will observe the snow geese and tundra swans and possibly nesting bald eagles. We will also look for American wigeon, northern pintail, gadwall, and hooded mergansers that have been reported as well as passerines, along the accessible trails and roads. It is supposed to be sunny but cold on Saturday. If rain is predicted the walk will be cancelled.
Join us afterward for lunch at Stoudt’s Brewery. 2800 North Reading Rd, Adamstown, PA, which opens at noon.
