- Christmas Bird Count
Christmas Bird Count
Join us for the 119th Christmas Bird Count. The count is the longest continuous census in the new world. The count stretches from the high Arctic to South America. By volunteering for this event you are helping scientists determine the long-term population trends for birds in our area. The annual event includes teams of birders surveying eleven sections within a prescribed 15-mile diameter circle, the center of which is the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove. Beginning and experienced birders are welcome. Section leaders will notify past participants.
New volunteers, please register (with Vince Smith - email@example.com) by December 15 to be assigned to a team.
