10:00 am: Hike @ Three Bridges over the Schuylkill
May 30, 2019 –
Except for a short hill, this is a rather flat hike with the challenge of crossing a railroad bridge, although it’s rarely used. We will be crossing the Pencoyd and the Tow Bridges as well as the Viaduct (Manayunk Bridge Trail). Facilities 5 minutes after hike begins. Bring lunch and water or eat at a restaurant during the hike. Short hike alternative: No bridges, no leader necessary, about 3 miles.
DIRECTIONS: Take the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76 E) to Exit 338. Turn right onto Belmont Ave. and continue for 0.7 miles. At the light at Levering Mill Road turn left. Drive downhill to parking lot at right.
